Behaviour

At St Hugh of Lincoln, we are committed to creating a positive climate within the school based on a sense of community and shared values. Our approach to discipline is founded upon good relationships and mutual respect between all members of our school community. We firmly believe that good behaviour is essential as it ensures that children are ready to learn and can achieve their full potential.

Our expectations are clear and straightforward: we want our pupils to be ready to learn, to be respectful of each other, and to feel safe within our school environment. These three principles underpin everything we do and guide our interactions throughout the school day.

When pupils feel secure and valued, they are better able to focus on their learning and develop positive relationships with their peers and teachers. This creates a virtuous cycle where good behaviour supports academic progress, which in turn reinforces positive attitudes and conduct.

I would encourage you to familiarise yourself with our comprehensive Behaviour and Relationships Policy, which outlines our expectations and procedures in detail.
