Making wax candles
In Year 2 we made our own beeswax candles! We had to gently warm the wax sheets before sealing in the wick and rolling the wax.

Creating our own book sleeve!
Today the children decorated their book sleeves which they sewed together using a running stitch last week. They added decorations and fastenings to their creations following their design criteria!

This week we began our design technology unit of work about sliding mechanisms. We began by looking at examples of sliding mechanisms, then we sorted pictures of objects into those that were sliding mechanisms and those that were not.

Making Vegetable Soup!
This week we have been learning about which foods make us big and strong! We enjoyed reading the story ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ and we all helped to chop and peel vegetables to make our own soup! It was delicious!
