Making wax candles
In Year 2 we made our own beeswax candles! We had to gently warm the wax sheets before sealing in the wick and rolling the wax.

In Year 2 we made our own beeswax candles! We had to gently warm the wax sheets before sealing in the wick and rolling the wax.
Today we celebrated the importance of the honeybee, in Year 2 we explored the enquiry question; “Do flowers need bees?” We completed an experiment to see how bees transfer pollen as they move to different flowers.
As part of our Religion lesson about the Easter Vigil Mass we completed an experiment to show how water can become cloudy with our sin, but when we seek forgiveness from God we can cleanse our sins and the water becomes clear again.
We shared the Palm Sunday gospel before making our own palm leaves and singing “Sing Hosanna”
Today in Year 2 we learnt Buddy and how he can help us speak out and stay safe.
We have been experimenting with paper to create 3D sculptures by folding, rolling and cutting paper.
In music we have been learning to recognise different rhythms and note values.
We learnt all about the history of hats with Mrs Noctor before designing our own; just like a real artist!
We have been learning about emotions poetry in Year 2; today we read and performed “The Grouchy Poem”
In Year 2 we used a sketch map with a key to label the features of our school grounds.
