Mrs Karran helped us to make a ‘hedgehog hotel’. We followed the instruction sheet, we found all the resources we needed - a box, waterproof sheeting, leaves and sticks, and then we got to work!
This week the children have been finding out about hedgehogs. We had read some fiction stories about them, but we also shared non-fiction books and used the computer to find information about them.
This week the children have been developing their maths skills through the activities they have chosen to do. We had shape work through building with the blocks, number recognition and length with the rulers and more shape sorting by organising the Christmas foam shapes into different bags!
Here is this weeks Nursery News. There will be a collection point under the nursery shelter, for donated Christmas jumpers, there will be a large box for you to put them in - thank you.
We read the story called ‘Honey Biscuits’. It showed us where the ingredients that we use in our baking come from, and how they are made!
We used the paint today, to make different patterns. We talked about different directions - up, down, round, curved, straight and side to side.
This week we made “Welcome” cards for a new baby that had been born!
We went in the mud kitchen to play, but we made sure that we were properly dressed in the wet weather suits and wellies.
