Hello Year 5!
I hope that you all had a lovely Easter and received lots of chocolate eggs to eat!
On Easter Sunday, Lucinda was very excited (she woke up at 6.30am!) and raced downstairs to see if the Easter bunny had been. Fortunately he had and we all enjoyed our Easter egg hunt, with Lucinda finding most of the eggs!
Later on, we watched Pope Francis give his Easter message from St Peter’s Basilica in Rome. It seemed strange to see St Peter’s Square so empty when it is normally packed with people from all over the world. It was good to listen to the Pope though, at this time when we can’t be in church.
Over the past week, I have been enjoying video calls with family and friends living all over the country. It’s been great to chat to them and, even better, see them. Have you been chatting to your friends and family? It’s good to keep in touch as it makes us all feel connected.
Also, every Thursday we have been joining in with people on our street (and throughout the country) to clap for the NHS as well as all the people who are helping to look after us at this time. It is right that we show our support and appreciation of the huge effort that is being made. Have you been joining in too?
I hope you are all continuing your studies at home - it is important that you do a little bit each day, especially maths and reading, and of course get lots of exercise, especially when it’s sunny!
Keep taking care of yourselves and your family and stay safe
Love from Mrs Marshall and Mrs Blackwell
