Image of Happy Easter Year 4

Hi Year 4,

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter and you and your families are all staying safe. Did you get many eggs?
I got one egg from Mrs Smith, which didn’t last very long. Lucy and Ben took their eggs to their bedrooms to stop me eating them!! On Easter Sunday I set up the Zoom app so we could speak to my sister in Australia and Mrs Smith’s sister in Austria, Lucy and Ben enjoy speaking to their cousins through this app. We had a family quiz, which we won (obviously!) Have you been speaking to family and friends this way?

I’m really missing school and seeing you all each day. I hope you’re managing to complete a couple of hours of work each day, it’s especially important to keep up with your reading and maths work. You can log onto the Oxford Owl reading scheme at www.oxfordowl.co.uk which gives you free access to their range of e-reading books. Hopefully you’ve been logging onto Times Tables Rockstars and Active Learn ( I’ll be adding some more work on Active Learn today). Keeping a diary of this time at home is a great way to develop your writing but it’s also a piece of history. I would love to read any of these when we are back in school.

Are you also keeping active? Especially after all those Easter eggs!! There are lots of great challenges online that you can do in this fantastic weather we’re having. If you go onto our school twitter page @StHughPrimary there are some physical challenges on there for you to have a go at set by Trafford School Sport Partnership, you could even win a sports values badge if you post your attempts @TraffordSSP. In our house we’ve continued to challenge each other with obstacle courses, netball and football drills and table tennis competitions.
Has anyone been cooking at home? I’m going to attempt to bake a cake with Ben which could be very interesting and messy! I might even post some pictures next week.

That’s all from me until next week, keep helping at home, keep working, keep active but most importantly keep smiling!

Take care of each other and stay safe, love

Mr Smith & Mrs Walker xx
