Letter to Reception Parents

Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope you are all well and managing to juggle everything at home!  Thank you for all the lovely feedback about the stories on WhatsApp, we are actually really enjoying doing them for the children.  This week the story is ‘Kitchen Disco’ there are some ideas for activities to go with the story on this Blog please click on the link under the title ‘Kitchen Disco Activities’ to access these.  If you are not on the Parents WhatsApp group but would like the videos of the stories sending to you individually please email school and we can arrange this, alternatively you can hear this story being read on ‘YouTube CBeebies Bedtime Stories’.

Please remember as well as the home learning packs we sent home and the online home learning on the school website there are many other useful websites you can access.  For reading books there are: www.oxfordowl.co.uk and Collins.co.uk and there are Maths lessons on whiterosemaths.com.  Also there are daily interactive lessons for Maths and English for Reception on: thenational.academy/online-classroom/reception/#schedule. Please do not feel like you have to do all of this just do what is right for your child, we would recommend to try to complete 20 minutes Phonics, 20 minutes Maths activity and 20 minutes Literacy activity daily as well as practising reading regularly.  Remember the activities can be play based!
