Image of Year 3 Parent Letter Week 7 !

Hi again :)

Mrs O' Connor has written the letter to the children this week so I will write to them again next week.  As always they are in my thoughts :).

As we begin week 7 of home learning I hope you and your families are keeping well and staying safe.  It was lovely to speak to most of you over the phone last week and it sounds like you are all getting on just fine !  This weeks home learning theme is celebrations ! It fits in quite nicely with the VE day celebrations that will be taking place around the country on Friday!  There is a nice short video here to share with the children https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/history-ks2-ve-day/z7xtmfr.  There is also some information on newsround which might be useful too! https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/48201749.  Maybe the children could make their own bunting to put up in the window at home to celebrate VE day.  There are some pre -made ones here that they could colour also : https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/t-t-2548139-union-jack-template-display-bunting.  There are a few ideas and challenges below that may be helpful for you to ask the children to complete over the coming week.  You may wish to :

*Find out about any relatives that fought in the war.

*Research who Neville Chamberlain and Winston Churchill were.

*Research and make your own fighter jet /spit fire model.

*Design/Make a VE day medal.

*Help make some cakes/scones to celebrate VE day on Friday.

As always I would love to see any photos of the children's learning. My email is:  moranv@st-hughlincoln.trafford.sch.uk

Above all have fun and enjoy your week.

Take Care
