Image of It's me again Year 3 !

Hi guys :) I missed writing to you last week, but I hope you enjoyed hearing from Mrs O'Connor !  I hope you are all ok still and keeping safe and well :) As the weeks go on I am really missing you all! It's been lovely to see Ava and Daniella in school this week ( as key worker children) and last week I even got to chat to Rudi ( from a safe social distance) when he came with his Mum to drop something off at school!  We were comparing Tik Tok notes! haha :) I also had a special social distanced visit from Stevie, who brought me in a letter she had written for me :) What a wonderful surprise it was! I have written back to her and sent it to her home address, I hope she likes it :)  I would love to hear from some more of you ! You could write me a letter and send it to school or you could email me at my school address :)  I will always write back :)   I had lots of fun making the word art  (picture above)  using our names !  I have printed it off too so when we are back in school I will put it up on our classroom wall :)  The program I used was free too, so maybe you could have a play around with it and create your own ? The link is this :  https://wordart.com/ You could email it to me and I could share it on our blog!  Last Friday we celebrated VE day!  Did you learn any new facts about VE day ?  We celebrated with a (social distanced) street party.  We made bunting and hung it up outside and lots of our neighbours had afternoon tea outside in their front gardens.  We have a lady who lives on our street who used to be in the RAF,  so she dressed in her full uniform and made a huge model of a spitfire!  and brought it out to show us!  It was such a good day!  I would love to hear all about how you celebrated at home.  Maybe you could write  a recount and email it to me to read ?  Last week Mia finished decorating her bedroom , she did such a good job and I was impressed to find she has a great new skill!  Have you learnt any new skills during lockdown ?  I've learnt I am very good at eating cakes :)  and I am much better at school teaching than home teaching ! I am hoping that we can all be together again soon and that as soon as it is safe to do so we will be a class again :)  Until then please keep your spirits up , I am sure everyone is missing people and it is hard when you  aren't able to play with your  friends and hug your family , I know I am finding it hard and so are my girls :) But we must keep smiling :) and keep faith that we are all safe and well and it will all be ok :)  I found a lovely poem that I really enjoyed reading to my girls so I thought I would share it with you guys, It might even inspire you to write your own :) Enjoy, stay safe and keep smiling,

Lots of Love as always Miss Moran and Mrs O'Connor xxxx

The Rainbow Children

The history books will talk of now,
That time the world stood still.
When every family stayed at home,
Waved out from windowsills-
At those they loved but could not hold,
Because they loved them so.
Yet, whilst they did they noticed all the flowers start to grow.

The sun came out, they can recall,
And windows, rainbows filled.
They kicked a football in their yards,
Until the night drew in.
They walked each day but not too close,
That time the world stood still.
When people walked straight down the roads,
That once the cars did fill.

They saw that people became ill,
They knew the world was scared.
But whilst the world stood still they saw,
How much the whole world cared.
They clapped on Thursdays from their doors,
They cheered for the brave.
For people who would risk their lives,
So others could be saved.

The schools closed down, they missed their friends,
They missed their teachers so.
Their Mum’s and Dad’s helped with their work,
They helped their minds to grow.
The parents used to worry that,
As schools were put on hold,
Their children wouldn’t have the tools,
They’d need as they grew old.

But history books will talk of them,
Now adults, fully grown.
Those little boys and girls back then,
The ones who stayed at home.
They’ll tell you that they fixed this world,
Of all they would fulfil.
The RAINBOW children building dreams,
They’d dreamed whilst time stood still
