Planting Sunflowers
Today we had to put our sunflowers in a bigger planter as they were getting taller. The roots needed more space.

Year 1 Liturgy
This morning Year 1 took part in their class liturgy learning about the Passover Meal. They listened to the beautiful hymn “We come to your Feast”.

Twosday
We had a fantastic time on Twosday! Year 1 learned about counting in 2s!
They counted pairs of socks, gloves and used 2p coins to count in 2s. They loved using the peg boards to make the number two and counted the pegs they used in 2s.

Our Visit to the Park
Year 1 had such a good time in the park looking for signs of winter. We saw lots of deciduous trees and some evergreen trees too. We collected lots of leaves - they all were different shapes and colours. We even got to visit our favourite tree in Lostock Park!

We returned to the park to look for signs of Winter. We used our compasses so we could face North, East, South and West.

A morning at the park
Year 1 had a fantastic time at the park this morning. We looked at signs of Autumn and also did some geography fieldwork using compass points. We even managed to have a play on the slides and swings!

Part Whole Model
Year 1 learnt about the Part Whole Model today. They used counters, conkers, multilink and number cards to make parts and wholes. Fantastic learning!

Pezzettino
Year 1 read Pezzettino today as part of their Maths lesson on recognising parts and wholes.
We learnt that Pezzettino is actually Italian for ‘little piece’. Year 1 had fun counting the different coloured parts.
