A BIG THANK YOU Y6

As the weeks pass, we are REALLY missing you all and being in school altogether. However, despite never being further apart, it seems we have never been closer together in our shared hopes and aims.

Another new week brings more good news...It’s official Y6! It’s not just the NHS and carers that are being thanked, but YOU too!!!!!

Yes! The Government have been applauding YOU directly for how incredibly RESILIENT you (and your parents) have been in adapting so well to your incredible new circumstances and how absolutely AMAZING you are for working so hard at home. (Exactly what all your teachers knew already!) So keep it up Y6, you’re doing SOOO well!

To help you (and your mums and dads) with this, there are new and exciting websites that have just been launched online that we think you will really enjoy.

The first is the BBC Bitesize lessons that you can access through their website, (bbc.co.uk/bitesize/daily lessons). You can also find daily lesson videos and programmes on the BBC iPlayer or, if you prefer, you can watch them on your television between 9am and 11am via BBC Red button.

I’ve put a picture of this week’s timetable on the next blog post.

Secondly, the Government have also launched a new website: The Oak National Academy

(www.thenational.academy). Like BBC Bitesize this is a bank of lessons and videos covering a range of your favourite subjects. Have a look and I would love to find out about any useful lessons you have completed or things you have learnt.

If we had been in school this week (on Wednesday) as part of our Crime & Punishment topic in History, we would have been on our visit to the Greater Manchester Police Museum. Therefore, we thought you might like to visit their website and research the history of the Police Force. Maybe you could create a non-chronological report, poster or PowerPoint with the information you have found out that you could share when we are all together again in school.

As we said in our last letter, Thursday is a good day! This week is even more special too as -from 7pm- the BBC, Children in Need and Comic Relief are joining together to host ‘The Big Night In’: a special night to celebrate the people who are making a difference during these extraordinary times. So not only will we be treated to a whole host of entertainment but we might also be able to raise some money for all these people and charities that have been affected too.

Remember Y6, YOU are making a difference everyday by doing what you are doing and it is so appreciated by everyone who knows you and now by the Government too!

Thank you again. Keep up the fantastic work and good deeds but most of all stay happy and safe!

love Mrs Jones & Mrs Stanley xx
