Hello 6E,

Hope you are all well. Can’t believe another half term is now coming to an end. This week should’ve been our residential. That makes me feel really sad, but we must try and stay positive and think about all the good things about our current situation. I know this can be hard at times but it’s important that you do it. Today, I feel positive and happy that my family are safe and well. Think about what is good about life for you at the moment?

You may have seen that Semi Ray has done the 5k challenge- superb time too. Has anyone else had go yet? Scarlett has written to me again, she has got the ‘running bug’ and is now really into her running. Make sure you’re all keeping fit. It’s the perfect time to increase your fitness levels.

Hopefully you’ve all managed to access the new home learning plan for y6. As you can see, we’ve added some Corbett maths- a great way to keep up your maths skills so that you are ‘high school ready’.There’s plenty to keep you busy. I’d love to see any work that you have completed, you can email it to me on evansj@st-hughlincoln.trafford.sch.uk

The National Literacy Trust is encouraging children like you to write to people in care homes-this supports the ‘My Dear New Friend’ project. Maybe you have got to know one of your elderly neighbours during lockdown, perhaps you could write to them too?

This week I will be calling your parents up again, just to say hello,to make sure that you are ok and to see if there is anything that we can help you with - I’m really looking forward to it.

You’ve probably seen the news about schools coming back. There’s lots of talk about Y6 being one of the first year groups. I really hope so, but we’ve got to make sure we do this in the safest possible way. I’d like nothing more that to see you all before the summer holidays. I also understand that you are now used to staying at home and that it is going to be difficult to get back into the routine of school. I feel a little uncertain and anxious about it too, but can you be sure that we’ll work through this together and find the best possible outcome- so please try not to worry.

Lots of love to you all- take care and stay safe,

Mrs Evans and Mrs Stanley xxxx
