We had a lovely time looking at our new butterfly. We saw him shaking his wings to dry them off. We put some fruit in for him to eat over the weekend. Hopefully he will have some friends when we get back to school on Monday.
The children looked for different textures, they found a mixture of natural materials like bark, shells and wicker baskets and man made materials such as the Lego and stickle bricks! It was a little tricky learning how to use the crayon on its side to rub along the paper.
All five of our caterpillars are now chrysalids, hopefully they will all emerge as butterflies!
We all did a super picture for Mr Sandham. We talked about the things that he does to help us to look after our school. We sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to him and gave him some chocolates. He was very pleased and said “ Thank You“ - we said “you’re welcome”.…
Here is this weeks Nursery News. Please remember, if you would like a couple of beans to grow with your child, just ask, they are really easy, and fascinating to watch!
Today is St. George’s Day. We listen to the story about Saint George and the Dragon. We made roses, which are England’s special flower and we made our own flags, with the cross of St George on them.
The children are really excited about our caterpillars, all 5 of them are growing well. Today, (Friday) three of them have climbed up to the top of the pot, maybe when we come to school on Monday they may have made their chrysalis!
We know that we have to help to look after everything in nursery, today we were finding out about Earth Day. We used our fingers to print the earth with paint. We used special ‘magic’ pens to draw our own stars around our beautiful planet.
Today we went into the hall and we were learning how to control the footballs in different ways. This was great for developing our gross motor skills.
We love numbers - counting, adding, spotting them.... we love finding out what you can do with them!
