We all help to make our displays. We think of the ideas, the vocabulary that we think is important, we paint, collage and create the pictures. We listen and look carefully, we use books, the computer and we talk to our families and grown ups. We love learning in nursery and we are proud to show…
We have been exploring different textures and materials over the past few weeks. This week we had them in our black trays, we did some great talking about how the things felt. We also loved using the mirrors to find out about reflection!
One butterfly flew straight away, the others spent a little while longer with us in the nursery garden.
We all had a chance to say goodbye to our butterflies. We have loved watching them grow from tiny caterpillars into these beautiful creatures. We will miss not having them in class to say hello to each morning.
We have been talking about Mary. Mary was Jesus’s mummy. We talked about how Mary would have looked after her baby, like our mums look after us. We looked closely at the statue of Mary, we had some great conversations with our friends as we worked!
We all looked very closely at the statue of Mary, we asked lots of questions, we wanted to know why there was a snake!
We had a lovely time looking at our new butterfly. We saw him shaking his wings to dry them off. We put some fruit in for him to eat over the weekend. Hopefully he will have some friends when we get back to school on Monday.
The children looked for different textures, they found a mixture of natural materials like bark, shells and wicker baskets and man made materials such as the Lego and stickle bricks! It was a little tricky learning how to use the crayon on its side to rub along the paper.
