We used scissors to create the straight edges on the boats and tore painted paper to create the wave effect of the sea.

Sorting 3D Shapes
We have been sorting 3D shapes into groups- those that have curved faces and those that have flat faces. The children saw that some shapes belonged in both groups so we needed to overlap our sorting hoops.

Role on the Wall
Today Year 1 were thinking of adjectives to describe The Lonely Beast. They worked really well in their groups and came up with lots of words to describe him like worried, brave, quiet, unhappy and tearful.

Reading to Reception
Year 1 had a lovely time this morning when we visited Reception to read the books we have been making. All the children have worked hard writing and illustrating their books and we are very proud of them. Thank you to Reception for listening so well to our stories.
