Dictionary Skills

Today we have been practising our dictionary skills. We read through chapters 4-6 of Fantastic Mr Fox, and highlighted any words which were unfamiliar to us. We then looked these words up in our dictionaries and wrote the definition into our book.

Today we were sorting 2d shapes into Venn diagrams. We discussed lots of properties of the shapes. Including whether they were polygons or not, did they have any right angles , were they quadrilaterals or not etc.

Year 3 have been learning all about right angles. We investigated objects in our classroom and sorted them into right angles, acute or obtuse angles. We had lots of fun !

Today we made fraction posters, using all the different ways we have been learning about them. Including pizza fractions, number lines and adding fractions to make 1 whole.

Viking Brooches

We used our designs from yesterday to help make our brooches. We used tools to make marks and patterns on the brooches and we added jewels just like the Vikings would have.
