The new curiosity cube is doing amazing things for promoting questions and wondering. We will be changing it weekly and it will include items for discussion and will often be accompanied by a book. Please talk to your child about it.
Today we were very lucky to have a visit from a parent who came to talk to us all about Hinduism and how they celebrate Diwali.
We learnt all about how Diwali is the festival of light and how celebrations include decorating homes, lots of yummy food and fireworks!
Today we have made vegetable soup, we peeled, chopped and stirred and it tasted delicious! This activity was linked to our Literacy story this week ‘Oliver’s vegetables’, some of were just like Oliver and realised we actually do like vegetables!
This morning we had a fantastic music assembly from Marc! We really enjoyed singing, copying actions, dancing and thinking of our superpowers!
We are super proud of all the children in Reception who have got changed for P.E. and run the mile twice already since the start of term. Well done children!
This morning we had a visitor to our class! Nurse Maureen came to talk to us all about hand washing. We sat beautifully on the carpet listening to Maureen and could answer lots of questions about when we should wash our hands. We are now all GermBusters!

We continued learning about Chinese New Year in our Literacy today by acting out The Great Race!
We have really enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year this week. We decorated our home corner, learnt how to use chopsticks and about all the different traditions. We found out we were all born in the year of the snake or the horse!
