Today we learnt that Jesus ascended into Heaven. Together we enjoyed making a big cloud out of cotton wool.

We are TV chefs!
We are making our own cooking programmes which will show viewers how to make healthy fruit flapjacks. Today we enjoyed being presenters and then eating the flapjacks. In our next lesson we will be learning how to edit our programmes.

Odd or Even?
Today we were investigating odd and even numbers by building towers with multi-link. We saw patterns and found out that even numbers end in 2,4,6,8 or 0. Everyone worked really well in their group to complete the investigation.

Programming in Year 1S
We have been using the bee bots in class. The children have been learning the names of the continents as part of our topic work so they programmed the bee bots to move around the world.

Sea Collages
We have been working on sea collages in art after looking at sea paintings by J.M.W. Turner.

Working on Our Collages
We used scissors to create the straight edges on the boats and tore painted paper to create the wave effect of the sea.

Sorting 3D Shapes
We have been sorting 3D shapes into groups- those that have curved faces and those that have flat faces. The children saw that some shapes belonged in both groups so we needed to overlap our sorting hoops.

Role on the Wall
Today Year 1 were thinking of adjectives to describe The Lonely Beast. They worked really well in their groups and came up with lots of words to describe him like worried, brave, quiet, unhappy and tearful.
